The 79th Independence Day of India was celebrated with patriotic fervour at the Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee (BTMC) Office, Bodhgaya. The National Flag was ceremonially hoisted by Dr. Mahashweta Maharathi, Secretary (BTMC) in the presence of venerable monks and nuns from different monasteries, BTMC members, officials of the local administration, police personnels, and devotees.
The gathering reflected unity and reverence for the nation’s freedom, as participants collectively paid homage to the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters. The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
