Former Chief Ministers of Bihar, Shri Lalu Prasad Yadav and Smt. Rabri Devi, accompanied by their son Shri Tejashwi Yadav and his wife, paid a reverential visit to the sacred Mahabodhi Temple on the morning of 9th September 2025.









On their arrival, they were warmly received by the Chief Monk, Bhikkhu Chalinda, and the Caretaker Monks, Bhikkhu Dinanand and Bhikkhu Dr. Manoj. Extending a cordial welcome were Dr. Mahashweta Maharathi, Secretary, BTMC; Dr. Arvind Singh, Member, BTMC; and Mr. Kiran Lama, Member, BTMC.
Within the sanctum sanctorum of the Mahabodhi Temple, the dignitaries lit lamps and offered flowers, following which the monks performed a special chanting of mantras, invoking blessings upon Shri Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family members. They were then taken around the temple complex, including a visit to the sacred Bodhi Tree.
To mark the occasion, the family was presented with a Buddha statue, a Bodhi leaf, and selected publications of the BTMC.
Expressing his joy, Shri Lalu Prasad Yadav conveyed his deep happiness at being able to visit the Mahabodhi Temple after a long time and to offer prayers together with his family.
