The Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee (BTMC) is pleased to inform that a large number of Sri Lankan pilgrims are presently visiting the Mahabodhi Mahavihara for daily prayers, meditation, and pilgrimage. This season has witnessed one of the highest inflows of pilgrims from Sri Lanka, along with significant numbers from Vietnam, Thailand, Mongolia, and other countries.

A high-level delegation from the Royal Government of Thailand, led by the Deputy Permanent Secretary, conducted a series of puja ceremonies in the vicinity of the Mahabodhi Temple. Mongolia’s Dashicholing Monastery’s delegation, led by Khamba Lama and other eminent Lamas, offered Prajnaparamita plaques to the Mahabodhi Temple and attended the dedication ceremony at the holy site.

A special ceremony was also held to mark the commencement of the scaffolding work for the maintenance of the Golden Spire of the Mahabodhi Temple.
BTMC expresses its sincere appreciation to all visiting devotees for their peaceful participation and heartfelt devotion at the sacred Mahabodhi Temple.
With the commencement of direct flight operations between Bangkok and Gaya from 7 October 2025, a further rise in pilgrim arrivals from Southeast Asian countries is anticipated in the coming months.
BTMC warmly welcomes all devotees and visitors to the Mahabodhi Mahavihara Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to experience peace, prayer, and the living legacy of the Enlightenment of Lord Buddha.
