Bihar Government Leaders Offer Prayers at Mahabodhi Temple on 2569th Buddha Purnima

May 12: On the auspicious occasion of the 2569th Buddha Purnima, commemorating the Birth, Enlightenment, and Mahaparinirvana of Lord Buddha, prominent leaders from the Government of Bihar visited the sacred Mahabodhi Temple to offer their reverence.

Shri Samrat Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Dr. Prem Kumar, Minister of the Co-operative Department, and Shri Jibesh Mishra, Minister of Urban Development and Housing, were warmly welcomed upon their arrival by Ven. Dr. Bhikkhu Manoj, Dr. Mahashweta Marathi, Secretary of the Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee (BTMC), and Dr. Arvind Singh, Member of BTMC.

In a solemn ceremony, the dignitaries offered flowers and incense in the temple’s main sanctum, as the sacred chants of Buddhist Sutras, led by Ven. Dr. Bhikkhu Manoj, echoed throughout the shrine.

As a token of appreciation, mementos were presented to the visiting dignitaries by Dr. Mahashweta Marathi and Dr. Arvind Singh, marking the significance of the occasion and their continued support for the preservation of this world-renowned spiritual heritage site.

The Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, witnessed a large number of devotees and visitors who had gathered to pay homage and participate in the spiritual festivity.
