The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Bihar, Shri Sangam Kumar Sahoo, visited the sacred Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhgaya, this evening – January 31, 2026. He was accompanied by the Gaya, District Magistrate-cum-Chairman of the BTMC, Shri Sashank Subhankar. On arrival at the Mahabodhi Temple he was warmly received by the Resident Monks of the Mahabodhi Temple—Venerable Bhikkhu Chalinda, Bhante Dinanand, Caretaker Monk of the Mahabodhi Temple, and Bhante Dr. Manoj and Dr. Arvind Kumar Singh, Member, BTMC.








The Hon’ble Chief Justice offered lights, incense, flowers at the altar of the Main Shrine. The Monks chanted sacred Sutras and invoked the Blessings of the Triple Gem on the Chief Justice.
He was later guided around the sacred Bodhi Tree, where he offered flowers and prayers.
On the occasion, mementos—including a replica of the Mahabodhi Temple, a Bodhi leaf, BTMC publications The Bodhi Tree and The Legends of Buddha, and an art portfolio—were presented to the Hon’ble Chief Justice.
