Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr. Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) Pays Reverent Visit to Mahabodhi Temple

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Mr. Prem Singh Tamang,(Golay) visited the sacred Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhgaya, this afternoon at 2 pm. alongwith His Holiness Gyachap Rinpoche. On arrival they both were warmly received by the Resident Monks of the Mahabodhi Temple—Venerable Bhikkhu Chalinda, Bhante Dinanand, Caretaker Monk, Lama Nima Tshering Lepcha of the Mahabodhi Temple, — along with Dr. Mahashweta Maharathi, Secretary, and BTMC Members Dr. Arvind Singh and Mr. Kiran Lama.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister offered lights, incense, flowers, at the altar of the Main Shrine, while the Venerable Monks chanted sacred Suttas, invoking the blessings of the Buddha for their well-being.

They were later guided around the sacred Bodhi Tree, where they offered flowers and prayers.

On the occasion, mementos—including a replica of the Mahabodhi Temple, certified framed Bodhi leaf, BTMC publications The Bodhi Tree and The Legends of Buddha, and an art portfolio—were presented to His Holiness and the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
