Mahabodhi Temple Illuminated in Red to Mark International Dyslexia Awareness Day

The Mahabodhi Mahavihara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was illuminated in red this evening ( on 26th October) to mark the International Dyslexia Awareness Day. The initiative was undertaken in response to the call from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, following communication from UNESCO MGIEP, to light up UNESCO Heritage Sites and key monuments across India in red as a gesture of solidarity and awareness for dyslexia.

The illumination aimed to spread awareness about dyslexia and the need for inclusive education for children with learning differences. The red lighting of the sacred Mahabodhi Temple symbolized compassion, understanding, and collective responsibility towards creating a more inclusive and empathetic society.

The Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee expressed its happiness to be part of this noble initiative led by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) under the Ministry of Culture.
