MEDITATION PARK

MEDITATION PARK

Buddha’s path can be retraced by walking around the temple premises. However, the Meditation Park is a world in its own. This garden is on the left side as you enter while facing the main temple. It faces the south-east and has an entry fee, only allows serious meditators to enter. People who have come to witness the grandeur of Mahabodhi temple can do so without entering the Meditation Park. Visitors are encouraged to meditate here from sunrise to sunset at a very nominal charge.
The garden is adorned by two humongous bells. Even though it is not thickly shaded by trees, the greenery and the silence of the place helps meditators stay away from distraction. This garden is serene, peaceful and idyllic. It almost feels miles away from the maddening crowd, which stands only a few steps away.
The park situated at the south-east of the temple is newly developed as a Meditation park. It has facilities for meditation huts, congregation and discussion courts and two huge prayer bells and two water fountains besides a lotus pond.
