Mr. Ajay Gopikisan Piramal, Chairman of the Piramal Group, India, visited the Mahabodhi Temple, Buddhagaya, this evening. He was warmly received on arrival by Bhante Dinanand, Caretaker Monk of the Mahabodhi Temple, Bhante Dr. Manoj; Dr. Mahashweta Maharathi, Secretary, and BTMC Members Dr. Arvind Singh and Mr. Kiran Lama.
During the visit, Mr. Piramal offered lights, incense, and flowers at the altar of the Main Shrine. The Venerable Monks of the Mahabodhi Temple chanted sacred Sutras invoking the Blessings of the Buddha for his well-being. Mr. Piramal also participated in the evening chanting inside the Main Shrine.
He was later guided around the sacred Bodhi Tree, where he offered flowers and prayers.
Mementos, including a Replica of the Mahabodhi Temple, a Bodhi Leaf, Publications of the BTMC – The Bodhi Tree and The Legends of Buddha, an art portfolio were presented to Mr. Piramal on this occasion.
Mr. Piramal expressed his happiness on visiting the Mahabodhi Temple and remarked on the profound peace he felt while being within its sacred premises.
