Bodhgaya, 6th July 2025 — The Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee (BTMC) organised a Special Prayer and 1000 Butterlamps Offering on the sacred premises of the Mahabodhi Temple (Mahavihara) on Sunday evening to celebrate the 90th Birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, revered globally as a beacon of compassion, wisdom, and peace.
The solemn event, held at 5:30 pm, witnessed the participation of Venerable Bhikkhus and Lamas from various Buddhist monasteries in Bodhgaya. The Chief Monk of the Mahabodhi Temple, Ven. Bhikkhu Chalinda, and Ven. Bhikkhu Dinanand led the ceremonial observance with deep spiritual reverence.
Dr. (Smt.) Mahashweta Maharathi, Member-Secretary of BTMC, along with BTMC Members Dr. Arvind Singh and Mr. Kiran Lama, also joined the prayer gathering, expressing heartfelt homage to His Holiness on this significant milestone.
The evening resonated with the spirit of unity and devotion, reaffirming the message of universal compassion embodied by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
