Sri Sanjay Kumar, Deputy Election Commissioner (DEC), Election Commission of India (ECI), visited the sacred Mahabodhi Temple

Sri Sanjay Kumar, Deputy Election Commissioner (DEC), Election Commission of India (ECI), visited the sacred Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in Bodhgaya today. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed with a traditional khada by Sri Shashank Shubhankar, District Magistrate and Chairman of the Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee (BTMC), Dr. Mahasweta Maharathi, Secretary, BTMC, Bhikkhu Dr. Deenanand, and Bhikkhu Dr. Manoj.

During the visit, the District Magistrate and the Secretary briefed Sri Sanjay Kumar on the rich history and spiritual significance of the Mahabodhi Temple, the site where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. Inside the shrine, Bhikkhu Dr. Deenanand and Bhikkhu Dr. Manoj blessed the dignitary with sacred mantra chants, creating a serene and divine atmosphere. Sri Sanjay Kumar also offered prayers at the revered Bodhi Tree, a symbol of enlightenment and peace.

At the conclusion of the visit, Sri Shashank Shubhankar, District Magistrate and Chairman, BTMC, presented Sri Sanjay Kumar with mementos, including a replica of the Mahabodhi Temple and publications of the BTMC, as a gesture of respect and appreciation.

The Mahabodhi Temple continues to be a beacon of spiritual harmony, attracting devotees and dignitaries from across the globe.
